"Leap Day" is free for nonexempt employees . . . or is it?

You can only imagine how difficult it would be for me to write one new post every four years to address leap year. So, you'll forgive me if I shamelessly recycle my post from four years ago: Is February 29th a "Free Day" for Employers?

I will note one small change for me, personally: I'm a shareholder now. That means I don't get paid a straight salary, but instead I (more or less) get paid for the work I perform (and bring in for the firm). Now, it's an "extra day" of earnings for the year, and I don't feel ripped off at all!
